What is Phase Zero?
Phase Zero is a 5-week phase of baseline testing and information gathering that can dramatically affect the rest of your Crossfit competition offseason.
WhY Phase Zero?
There are two major benefits to following Phase Zero.
The first is having accurate information for strength cycles and mono-structural conditioning progressions. If your percentages are too light, you will miss out on peak adaptation, and if they’re too heavy, you will lack the momentum needed to finish the cycle stronger, more efficiently, and healthy. The same goes for lack of, or even wrong information about your capabilities on machines and running.
The second major benefit is a bit more specific to Misfit Athletics. Throughout the year you will be given opportunities to personalize your programming by choosing met-cons and intervals that are categorized by duration and stimulus. In Phase 0 you will see a short, medium, and long Misfit Benchmark workout within each stimulus category we program. Seeing how you stack up now gives you a lot of runway to choose the correct pieces and work your weaknesses.
